Challenge Island After School program: Dazzling Decades- Get ready for some groovy time-traveling fun! You and a STEAM Team of friends will time travel to a different decade every week and learn about what it was like to be a kid in the 50’s, 60’s. 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s! You’ll engineer your way around the clock at different dazzling decade destinations like Soda Shop Springs (1954), Pop Art Towers (1964), Pet Rock Treehouse (1975) and Super STEAMio Jump (1985). Come join Latin Musicians Club! Come explore Latin music on your instrument. All musical instruments are welcome: strings, band instruments, piano, percussion, and vocals. Fierce Spirit Cheer is a one of a kind after-school program focusing on the fundamentals of cheerleading while building the confidence of the youth today with a safe, positive environment. We provide structured, fun-filled classes to Elementary students ages 5 to 12. Fierce Spirit Cheer is dedicated to making this an exciting atmosphere for students to learn the sport of cheerleading. We have with each session exciting new material taught building fun, creative cheer, dance, stunts, and tumbling routines that are showcased for the final session Parent Performance. Classes begin right after school. Fierce Spirit Cheer focuses on the fundamentals of cheerleading. Just like any sport, athletes must start learning the skills at a young age if they plan on cheering at a high school or college level. Fierce Spirit Cheer takes students with no experience and those with experience. We work all skill levels into our tumbling routines, cheers & dances so that every student is actively involved. Fierce Spirit Cheer incorporates dances and cheers that are taught into amazing routines. Most importantly, we promote self-esteem, self-confidence, pride, and school spirit! Fierce Spirit Cheer is sometimes the first team experience these children have ever had and we want to make it their BEST experience! By teaching the proper techniques, students will gain the confidence and self-esteem to try out for high school, college, or even professional cheerleading one day! Fulton Musical Theatre: Matilda Jr. (4th-6th) Who can join? Any 4th, 5th, or 6th grade student who loves to sing, perform, and be part of something magical! Musical Theatre at Fulton Elementary is the perfect place for students who want to express themselves through acting, singing, and storytelling—all while working together as a team in this exciting club, students will explore what it means to be part of an ensemble, build confidence on stage, and grow their performance skills. This year, Musical Theatre will proudly present Matilda Jr.—a delightfully rebellious show filled with big magic, iconic characters, and unforgettable music! When do we meet? Rehearsals for Matilda Jr. will take place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 7:40–8:25 AM, beginning October 6th and continuing through February 24th. To use our time efficiently, not all cast members will be required at every rehearsal. Students will be scheduled based on the specific scenes and songs being rehearsed. A detailed calendar with dates, times, and cast requirements will be provided once roles are assigned. Please note that dates are subject to change (additional rehearsals). There will be no morning rehearsals on the following dates: November 11 & 25; December 22, 23, 29, & 30. Additional key rehearsals include: February 17 & 18 (conference half days): 12:00–3:00 PM, with lunch from 11:30–12:00. February 23: Mandatory full-cast dress rehearsal from 3:00–5:00 PM. February 24: School-day dress rehearsal from 8:30–10:30 AM. Are there performances? Yes, we will perform Matilda Jr. three times: a school-day performance on Wednesday, February 24th, followed by two evening performances —one on Wednesday, February 24th and another on Thursday, February 25th. Please note that performance dates are subject to change. Where do we meet? The Fulton Music Room. How much does it cost? The participation fee for Matilda Jr. is $250, which is non-refundable. This fee covers a musical theatre t-shirt, an audition workshop, access to at least 20 rehearsals (with additional sessions scheduled for lead roles), a student script, licensing rights, all set design materials and props, a cast lunch on February 25th, three performances, and administrative fees collected by Community Education. Please note that families are responsible for providing a costume based on their child’s assigned role. The Fulton Fire Choir: Intermezzo is perfect for students who enjoy expressing themselves through music and the performing arts. Throughout the experience, singers will learn proper vocal techniques, develop breath control, and more. In addition, students will strengthen their ensemble skills and learn the value of collaboration as they work toward shared musical goals. When do we meet? Rehearsals take place every Thursday from 7:40 AM to 8:25 AM, running from August 27th through December 3rd. Please note that there will be no rehearsals during Thanksgiving break. Yoga Meditation Fun!! - Teaching mindfulness to youth can create calm, level headed future leaders but who says we can’t have fun while doing it? This supportive introduction to Yoga and Mindfulness is designed for kids in grades PreK-12th. Participants enjoy access to fun, engaging classes that teach the basics of good health habits, mindful awareness, and positive perceptions. Through this session, participants practice breathing exercises, yoga poses, visualizations, relaxation activities, and we couldn’t call it fun without games! Our educated instructors teach resilience, empowering students through the toughest and most mundane experiences in life. Mats are not provided. All classes are non-refundable.
