Fulton Fire Choir (4th-6th)Enrichment ProgramsFulton Fire Choir (4th-6th) Who can join? Any 4th, 5th, or 6th grade student who loves to sing and wants to be part of a fun and talented group! The Fulton Fire Choir is perfect for students who enjoy expressing themselves through music and performing arts. Along the way, singers will learn proper vocal techniques, develop breath control, and how to sing in two-part harmony. Students will also develop ensemble skills and learn how to work together toward shared musical goals. Plus, it’s a great foundation for those interested in Musical Theatre! When do we meet? Rehearsals take place every Friday from 7:40 AM to 8:25 AM, running from August 28th through November 20th. Extra rehearsals at the same time are scheduled for December 3rd (Holiday Concert prep) as well as January 8th and 15th (CUSD Choral Festival prep). Please note that there will be no rehearsals on November 13th (Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day), during Thanksgiving break, or during intersession. Are there performances? Yes! The Holiday Concert will be held on December 3rd at 5:00 PM (with a call time of 4:30 PM), and the CUSD Choral Festival will take place on January 21st as a field trip. Where do we meet? The Fulton Music Room. How much does it cost? The fee is $150 and covers a choir t-shirt, 14 rehearsals with all necessary materials, participation in the Holiday Concert, a field trip to the CUSD Choral Festival (including a pizza lunch), a donut celebration on December 4th at 8:05 AM, as well as administrative fees collected by Community Education. Behavior Expectations: Always make positive choices by using kind words, showing respect to others, fully participating by singing your best, and taking care of our music room. Rehearsal Attendance Expectations: Choir members are expected to arrive on time for all rehearsals and performances. If a student must miss a rehearsal due to illness or a family emergency, a parent or guardian should notify Mrs. Landi. The Fulton Fire Choir: Intermezzo is perfect for students who enjoy expressing themselves through music and the performing arts. Throughout the experience, singers will learn proper vocal techniques, develop breath control, and more. In addition, students will strengthen their ensemble skills and learn the value of collaboration as they work toward shared musical goals. When do we meet? Rehearsals take place every Thursday from 7:40 AM to 8:25 AM, running from August 27th through December 3rd. Please note that there will be no rehearsals during Thanksgiving break. Fulton Musical Theatre: Matilda Jr. (4th-6th)Enrichment ProgramsFulton Musical Theatre: Matilda Jr. (4th-6th) Who can join? Any 4th, 5th, or 6th grade student who loves to sing, perform, and be part of something magical! Musical Theatre at Fulton Elementary is the perfect place for students who want to express themselves through acting, singing, and storytelling—all while working together as a team in this exciting club, students will explore what it means to be part of an ensemble, build confidence on stage, and grow their performance skills. This year, Musical Theatre will proudly present Matilda Jr.—a delightfully rebellious show filled with big magic, iconic characters, and unforgettable music! When do we meet? Rehearsals for Matilda Jr. will take place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 7:40–8:25 AM, beginning October 6th and continuing through February 24th. To use our time efficiently, not all cast members will be required at every rehearsal. Students will be scheduled based on the specific scenes and songs being rehearsed. A detailed calendar with dates, times, and cast requirements will be provided once roles are assigned. Please note that dates are subject to change (additional rehearsals). There will be no morning rehearsals on the following dates: November 11 & 25; December 22, 23, 29, & 30. Additional key rehearsals include: February 17 & 18 (conference half days): 12:00–3:00 PM, with lunch from 11:30–12:00. February 23: Mandatory full-cast dress rehearsal from 3:00–5:00 PM. February 24: School-day dress rehearsal from 8:30–10:30 AM. Are there performances? Yes, we will perform Matilda Jr. three times: a school-day performance on Wednesday, February 24th, followed by two evening performances —one on Wednesday, February 24th and another on Thursday, February 25th. Please note that performance dates are subject to change. Where do we meet? The Fulton Music Room. How much does it cost? The participation fee for Matilda Jr. is $250, which is non-refundable. This fee covers a musical theatre t-shirt, an audition workshop, access to at least 20 rehearsals (with additional sessions scheduled for lead roles), a student script, licensing rights, all set design materials and props, a cast lunch on February 25th, three performances, and administrative fees collected by Community Education. Please note that families are responsible for providing a costume based on their child’s assigned role.
